It seems that HBCUs without strong political and networking clout are on the chopping (or merger) block. And it does not help that many in the Black community are not helping the situation through mismanagement, ignorance, or plain incompetence. There comes a time when the prey becomes the predator and predator becomes the prey. HBCUs need to follow a more aggressive approach to being a meaningful force in the respective regions. And playing coy is not going to work if these institutions want to survive.
