Last month, President Donald Trump issued an executive order prohibiting federal funds from being awarded to agencies or contractors promoting racial or sexual stereotyping. The objective is to reverse what the White House calls a growing culture of blaming white people for much of America's social tension and systemic racism in industry and governance.
Excellent points about the executive order. As someone who works for a federal government inspector general, we are getting complaints about the diversity training and how it vilifies Whites. Also, my agency is walking back its diversity training.
I think many people do not know how significant this order could be on many organizations. Unfortunately, many think diversity initiatives apply only to Blacks. However, they fall to see the canary in the coal mine that they will be impacted as much.
HBCUs will need to strategic in promote Black students and initiatives. And it may require holding the proverbial gun (having other groups involved) to get our piece of the pie. If you kill an HBCUs', we will kill initiatives for other groups.
This is racist. Plain and simple. Just look at it on its face. Period.
