A petition calling for the removal of four members of the Tuskegee University Board of Trustees has collected more than 1,950 signatures over the last month. The group “TU Alumni Awakening” claims the board’s lack of transparency in executive management, fiscal affairs, and governance as the reasons to remove Chairperson Norma Clayton, former chair John Page, and alumni members Erick Harris and Chereece Warner.
Add the recent fumbling of the provost search 🤦🏾♂️ and confidence has eroded even further. Strong doubts linger about the current “leaderships” ability to put ulterior motives and antiquated thinking aside and secure innovative progressive talent. With this covid economic/social fallout set to take some universities out, we need homerun hitters in multiple campus positions. Problem is would they make it past the 1st round of interviews or even get invited if they came from a non-traditional background (politics, military)?
